MAIN SOCIAL ISSUE ON THE STEM STRAND:
•There are a lot of social issues on the STEM strand, notably in terms of the mental health of the students that took it. But one thing that is mainly a problem is that there are too many calculations that cannot be applied in real-life situations. Students taking this strand are only achieving enough to survive the strand to the point that it is less about learning.
WHAT SHOULD WE DO IN ORDER TO LESSEN THIS CIRCUMSTANCE?
•Teach students how to survive in real life.
•More on practicality.
•More on relevance: eliminating lessons that cannot be applied in real-life situations.
HOW CAN THIS HELP?
•Students' learning may be more meaningful if real-world examples and challenges are used in the classroom. Additionally, it might encourage interest in learning about crucial topics.
• Every student's stress can be reduced by eliminating lessons that cannot be utilized in real-world scenarios and concentrating more on lessons that are pertinent. This will also encourage students to study more about topics that will benefit society, the economy, and themselves in the future.
•Through the act of personal experience, practical knowledge can frequently lead to a deeper grasp of a concept. Theoretical learning is the subject of knowledge, and practical application is the use of that information in specific situations in real life.
